How To Spend 24 Hours in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is undoubtedly one of the most memorable places in the world to visit –– a destination where there is so much to do that it’s impossible to name them all. However, because of the sheer volume of options, it is also a place where you can enjoy quite a lot even during a brief getaway.

The city in Nevada is finally emerging from the shadows of the pandemic, as people flood back to the entertainment hub known as “The Strip.”. But what is it that attracts those people on such a continual basis? Let’s have a look at how you could spend just 24 hours in the city to get some idea of what it’s all about.

Morning moments

The heat in Las Vegas can be stifling. Indeed, USAtoday.com reported record highs just this past summer. So, one of the best ideas if you have a mind to walk about and explore the city is to do it in the morning –– before that searing sun gets too high in the sky. As an added bonus, there are also fewer people in the earlier hours, making it a little easier to explore freely.

Morning is arguably the best time to hit the pool, too, if you want a swim. When the sun is beating down later in the day, the poolside will be awash with people wanting to cool down, meaning there’s limited space (and it’s all just a bit less pleasant). But rest assured, there’s something special about getting to one of the Vegas pools when you actually have some space to swim around. From the Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace to the regal waters at the Bellagio, this city’s pools are incredible.

Afternoon adventure

As mentioned, the afternoon sun is scorching. But the just makes this the perfect time to hit the casinos and event centers where the air conditioning is powerful and welcoming. In the casinos of Las Vegas is also where you might bump into a famous face or two. Some of the world’s top poker players live within the city limits, and you can spot them taking in some practice in the casinos up and down the Strip. As stated on Poker.org, the card game remains one of the world’s most popular pastimes, and some of the locations for it in Vegas are absolutely worth a visit. To name just a few, you may want to check out the poker area at the Rio (which has hosted the World Series of Poker for years) or the Legends Room at the Bellagio (though you’d better bring your “A” game).

If you do happen to visit the Bellagio, there are also lovely botanical gardens to explore, full of wonderful plants and topiaries. If you like your air-conditioned entertainment a little more suspense thrilled, however, you might also consider a more interactive attraction like one of the escape rooms dotted around the city –– where you can solve a murder mystery, avoid a wild west shootout, and more.

Evening entertainment

After dark, the strip comes to life, full of lights, sights, and sounds you just don’t get during the day. The vistas are awash with neon lights and a real buzz of excitement as people head out into the night.

One of the best ways to see the city after dark is with an evening helicopter tour, which allows you to take in all of the iconic landscape from above before you sample the fantastic nightlife for yourself. However, if you prefer to end your evening at a slower pace, consider instead dining out at one of the restaurants owned by world-class chefs. From Gordon Ramsay to José Andrés, there are true culinary masters behind the Vegas culinary scene.
