St Basil’s Catehdral

That iconic image of the church with those colorful, bonbon-esque swirling spheres on the spires is St Basil’s Cathedral. The idea was to make the building look like the flames of a bonfire and as a consequence they created one of the most striking looking buildings in the country. Visiting this cathedral is a must-do during your time in Moscow.

Red Square

This is Moscow’s most visited attraction and it is easy to see why when we think about the cultural importance which this particular site has had on the country. Red Square is not only surrounded by beautiful architecture but it is where almost the entire history of this country unfolded.

The Kremlin

Moscow is often thought of as being shrouded in secrets, and whether that is true or not is irrelevant. What is relevant however is the Kremlin, the largest active fortress in Europe and a fascinating place to visit, where many of these secrets are supposedly born.

Arbat Street

Arbat is a cool street with many cafes and restaurants which is absolutely symbolic of the way of life here in Moscow. This is a really great place to see a more fun side of the city and tourists absolutely love it.

Lenin’s Mausoleum

This glass sarcophagus has the embalmed body of Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin. some love this place, some hate it, but tourists love it and 2.5 million go each and every year to the site.
